Plumbing Renovation Services in Swampscott
Here at Scott Willard Plumbing and Heating we work with the carpenters and electricians closely to achieve the results you desire in your home renovation. Whether it’s your kitchen or bathroom, we will work together to make your dream home a reality.
Tips to make your bathroom or kitchen renovation projects efficient and cost effective:
- Talk to the plumber and carpenter first and make clear exactly what you are looking for in your renovation. I can help you in ordering and picking up the parts necessary to complete the renovation.
- Make a list and order everything before the renovation begins. Your contractors are the best resource for ordering the correct fixtures and appliances.
For a bathroom renovation, this will include the new the vanity, water closet, plumbing fixtures, any new lighting, the tub, and tile.
For your kitchen renovation, the ideal kitchen renovation is one where nothing moves. However, in the real world, kitchen renovation involves moving the puzzle pieces around a bit. Some areas that are difficult are the main functional areas of the kitchen--prep areas, stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, garbage disposer.
- When you have your new products, I will let you know if I need to do extra work, such as moving the plumbing lines for the sink location.
- Consider all your options when purchasing for your renovation:
Home centers have a limited selection of vanities and tops in the store, and custom orders can take four to six weeks for delivery.
Fixtures You Don't Want to Move:
These fixtures can be costly to move: vented range hood, sink, dishwasher.
Fixtures You Can Move with Less Difficulty:
Refrigerators, even water-equipped models, can be moved. Cabinetry is an easy move. Range hoods that do not vent to the outside are simple to move, too.

In addition to renovation projects, vintage plumbing fixtures are a challenge. I have made it my “area of expertise” to restore these antiques. The older homes in our area, (Marblehead, Salem, MA, etc.) are a challenge and I derive great satisfaction in keeping this history alive. I started renovations straight out of plumbing school in 1976, and became self employed in 1985.
Antique toilets, vintage bathtubs, vintage faucets, and those beautiful antique bathroom fixtures define your house and this is part of what makes our area unique.
